Laura Spark makes films and music videos using film and stop motion animation techniques with a mixture of collage, drawing, puppetry and models. Check out her most recent film Lepus Fagus, a sad tale of a young hares struggle to comprehend mortality. These films are made on very little budget, often using found and recycled materials. All contain an element of improvisation, and the lingering residue of long cold nights in a dark dark room.
Models, puppets and sets created for stop-motion, film and live performance.
Also available for Prop sourcing, building and maintenance.
Indian ink scribblings, posters, illustrations and designs.
Laura Spark’s Psychedelic Rock and Roll Light Show – the simple majesty of swirling coloured oils, bubbles, prisms, cut-out shapes, doilies and puppets, projected using on OHP or two. Regularly appearing at improvisation-based music & dance events. For bookings contact firstname.lastname@example.org
Laura Spark’s work uses puppetry, animation, illustration and poetry to evoke fragmentary Gothic worlds in which forlorn (or occasionally mischievous) tales of sadness are spun.
Laura also plays trumpet with a number of touring bands and works in theatre and television in technical, production and managerial roles as well as the occasional foray into acting and performance.
She currently lives in Liverpool and is available for hire as a freelance artist, designer, illustrator, builder, maker, baker, musician, technician, protester, stage manager, producer, dream maker (or breaker), pointer, writer, animator, agony aunt, dancer…
