Laura Spark (she/her) is a Scottish visual artist working in animation, film and performance.

Currently based in Liverpool and a member of artist-led studios The Royal Standard.

Proud owner of a BA(hons) in Drama (LJMU) and a Masters in Animation from the Royal College of Art.

Filmmaker and touter of animation, projection and live visuals for theatre, performance and installation.

Lover of abandoned buildings and even quieter forests, analogue techniques and digital shortcuts, curios, mythos, intersectional feminism and radical non-anthropocentrism.

Examples of illustrious achievements include commissioned AV work for art organisations including Metal Culture, York Mediale, Abandon Normal Devices, Flatpack Film Festival, Bluecoat, More Music, Heart of Glass, Generator Projects and Speak Percussion (Australia).

Theatre projects across the UK and online with Hope St LTD, Hera, Liverpool Everyman and Dundee Rep, among others.

Personal film festival highlights include Frightfest and London Short Film Festival in the UK, to Women in Horror, USA and Stoptrik, Slovenia. And a Special Mention at Celtic Animation Film Festival.

Always keen to bring inclusivity and accessibility into work, the workplace and the industry. Trying to improve on this with each passing day. Including offering mentoring, skill sharing and general chats as well as listening and lending voice.
